BMW car will show a new concept at CES 2016. As expected from the show at the Consumer Electronics Show, and focuses on the concept car Vision on a new type of interface and media.
Featuring BMW's new concept car many new technologies, but the ones that stand out through the described system is AirTouch. While it sounds like something developed by Apple (and this touch 3D), and AirTouch refers to a new way to run and touch interface. Specifically, the new technology allows the user to touch screen without actually touching them run. That means goodbye to those nasty grease marks on the screen, and perhaps a way to make such technology more secure in the car.
The system will recognize gestures AirTouch feet in front of the screen and multimedia interface. Of course, the system bears some resemblance to the new 7 series' gesture control, but the added bonus is that the latest development is also working with three-dimensional gestures. Therefore, instead of just the left and right movements up and down movements, the system will also understand the movement forward, backward.
Moreover, the proposed new interface work both for the driver and front passenger. This development means that there is to touch the screen to get things done. The new technology will work using a variety of sensors implemented in the dash and in other areas.
These sensors monitor all hand movements that occur between the center console and the central rear-view mirror. In theory, the driver can learn to operate the new system without looking at the screen and the media. Just to be on the safe side, the system AirTouch buttons feature a confirmation of the driver and front passenger, so you do not end up cancel your navigation path before a busy intersection.
At present, BMW AirTouch is just a proof of concept, it will take some time to reach production. But when they do, it can be the next big thing for touch screens in cars and multi-media interfaces. Like other premium manufacturers, BMW has focused on the physical interface for multimedia systems (in this case, iDrive) that allows the process rather free eyes once you get the hang of it. Some voices argue that such an approach is safer than having to look at the screen and touch specific points on it while driving.
